My partner and I have revised our trip a bit. If you can provide any tips or help it would be appreciated. Landing in AKL early morning we have rented an Airbnb in the Ponsonby neighborhood for 2 nights. We will have a car and plan on exploring the AKL area while nursing some jet lag.
We are not really museum type people. We love beautiful drives. What parts of town show the best of AKL?
The next 2 nights we have decided to stay in the town of Coromandel. Then we head over to Whangamata for…
I'll be driving between Auckland - Wellington in early July and was curious if the roads are anything to worry about. I read the "Desert Road" stretch near Taupo can sometimes close due to snow in July. Does anyone have experience with this?
I am going to New Zeeland, next year and I starting to plan already,I have planned these tours soo far:
- Rotorua ( Rotorua Maori Hangi )
- Taupo ( ( Full-day Tongariro Alpine Crossing Hike )
Is there something else good to see or do hiking ?
The town list so far:
Auckland – Christchurch – Wellington – Dunedin – Queenstown –Hamilton – Tauranga -
Hello! My husband and I are planning a 9 day trip to NZ in February 2017. Due to time restrictions, we'd like to stay on the North Island. We will be renting a car and plan on driving to each of the locations. We are early in the planning process, but here is the rough itinerary we have so far:
Full Days 1-2: Auckland & Waiheke Island
Day 3 Drive to Rotorua
Day 4: Spend full day in Rotorua
Day 5: Leave Rotorua, drive to Thames, then Coromandel (stay in Coromandel)
Day 6: Check out Cathedral Cove &…
I will be travelling from Perth to NZ in mid-October with my 75 year old grandmother and I'm wondering how much time to invest in both the North and South Islands? She cannot do any serious hikes, or walks that aren't paved and or flat. She is in good shape but doesn't do particularly well with high altitude or uneven surfaces. She is able to walk a good bit though as long as it's not too strenuous. A day full of activities is just fine. We will wake early and take advantage of full days, using…
We are a couple from Spain visiting New Zealand in September. We would to do Abel Tasman coast track, and since we will spend around 3 weeks, we think a 3 day unguided walk will be fine.
Basically the huts on the track mark the places where you could spend the night. We would like to finish the track in Totaranui and do some of the side tracks that are recommended (like Cleopatra pool and Falls River) which add some extra time. Do you recommend taking a water taxi from Marahau to…
I'm a recently graduated student presenting at a forensics conference in Auckland in September, and I've decided to go for a solo adventure so have booked my return flights three months afterwards in December. However, I'm really not sure what's the best way to experience/travel around NZ on a budget, so I was wondering if anyone had any advice as to what I shouldn't miss out, best ways to get around etc?
I am traveling to NZ in December for 16 nights and have made a draft itinerary. Would be really great if you can suggest if this would be do-able.
Day 1: Arrive in Auckland early morning; spend the day in the city; mostly rest
Day 2: Do a one day cruise of Bay of Islands; stay over at Auckland
Day 3: Drive early morning to Rotorua; spend the day in Rotorua sight seeing, polynesian spa, maori show etc.; stay over in Rotorua
Day 4: Spend the first half river rafting in Rotorua; sight…
