Hey guys! I'll be flying in to New Zealand from October and staying until January. I don't have much planned for this trip, but I do plan on hiking, camping, and doing various activities. I do want to start in Auckland and work my way down south and perhaps go to Fiji and Australia. If you'll be in NZ around this time feel free to connect with me.
Hello fellow travelers,
I am going to New Zealand (South Island majorly) for my honeymoon this December. I have already booked my flights (Reaching Auckland on 10th Dec afternoon, Flying out from Christchurch on 19th Dec night). Few of the things that we have decided we want to do necessarily :
- Bungee at Queenstown
- Milford Sound (preferably drive from Queenstown via Lake Te Anau)
- Trans Alpine (between Christchurch and Greymouth)
- Glacier experience at Franz Joseph glacier (helicopter…
My husband and I are planning 3 wks in New Zealand arriving beginning of January. It's the busy season, so really wondering if it's necessary to having accomodations pre booked along with excursions. Is it necessary to do this or can we get accomodations as we go with no problem at that time of year.
thanks so much
I'm being told that I am trying to fit too much in my 28days traveling from Auckland to Christchurch. What are your suggestions to help me reduce some of my drives to enjoy my destinations more? What should I eliminate to help me sleep more, be able to enjoy and actually rest. I want to enjoy my trip, have good meals, and not be exhausted driving from location to location and not feel so rushed. I would really appreciate so solid advice. Thanks in advance. Here's my plan so far:
So we're researching a trip to NZ and will be renting a car to tour both islands during one month.
The original quote from Apex was $1400 dlls and now we found this RentalCarManager.com website offering a quote for $600. We think the catch is that they don't really tell you the model of the car you're getting, though they do offer roadside assistance.
We're wondering if this is a scam because we're stoked it's half the original quote. Experiences with these guys?
My fiance and I are getting married on NYE 2016, and are planning to have our 2 week honeymoon to New Zealand immediately after. We've focused most of our research on the South Island thus far, and had a few questions. We're not crazy adventurous people (i.e. no bungy jumping, etc.), but we're open to trying activities that are not THAT extreme.
1) Does anyone have any suggestions for romantic getaways/activities that we can do on the South Island?
2) Would we miss out on a lot if we…
In less than a month I'll be in New Zealand, spending about a week in the north Island before heading from Wellington to the South Island. My plan so far is 3 nights in Nelson, visiting Abel Tasman National Park from there.
I have a place reserved in Queenstown about a week after leaving Nelson. The question is how to spend those 6 or 7 days between Nelson & Queenstown.. (I probably won't be renting a car, as I'll be on my own, so probably do long distance coach, Intercity, Naked Bus…
I am looking for a company to share car cost and driving. I have a travel plan for both islands. I plan to visit all national parks and some hot springs. I arrive to Auckland and leave from Christchurch. Tatyana
Been reading the forum for information and just wanted to get any advice/ tips for my own trip next year!
I am planning on going to NZ this time next year (i'll be 26) as I will be a UK qualified electrician June/ July time. I will be going on the working holiday visa with the intention of doing the full 2 years with a few grand in the bank as a back-up. My plan is to fly into Wellington with a hostel booked for the first week or so. Ideally I want to find work as an electrician/ mate…
Hi all; hostel/hotel advice wanted for first night in Auckland. I’m travelling from UK to Auckland. I’m arriving late afternoon into Auckland and will have been effectively travelling for around 2 full days. I’m thinking all ill want to do is sleep and reset my body clock so probably best to book into a quiet and comfortable hotel?
I’m travelling both islands with a kiwi experience bus ticket and staying the rest of the time in hostels so expecting to meet plenty of people.
