This organic, vegetarian eatery does curries, freshly squeezed juices and filled pita pockets. There’s another more central branch above the i-SITE in Cathedral Sq with longer opening hours, which operates as a more spacious restaurant with tasty veg pizzas and casseroles (mains $8 to $16).

    Lotus Heart - Sri Chimroy

    The Lotus Heart is a vegan cafe in the central city, where you can take out or dine in and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere and friendly staff. They have an extensive menu that changes daily including vegan pies, lentil curries, salads, smoothies and juices.

    The restuarant has a Vedic flavour based on the philosophy of Sri Chimroy. The meditative music is composed by Sri Chimroy and the walls are covered in his almost childlike paintings. There are also souvenirs for sale including CDs and postcards.

    If you are interested in learning meditation techniques, pick up one of their brochures or ask any of the staff. They run free meditation courses in the centre city.
