Is there a couple in Auckland who would like to join my wife and I aboard SV Island Prism (check out Facebook/Island Prism) for a sailing adventure in the Haruki Gulf, end of March or beginning of April? Must be YouTube video producer or subject. Contact us on Facebook
I'm headed to New Zealand in about 2 months on a Working Holiday Visa. Can anyone suggest some places that would be good to work and live for the year?
Having already done a year in Australia, I'm really trying to avoid the backpacker/all-night drinking lifestyle. I'd really like to be somewhere that has an art/culture vibe, good social life, plenty to do/get involved in and where there are some decent jobs (I can't handle another stint of housekeeping!).
Just to be extra awkward, I…
Good morning all!
My girlfriend and I are planning to visit New Zealand from mid December 2017 to mid January 2017. We are flying in from Germany (probably Frankfurt) and are wondering what the best choice of route and airline would be.
We're a bit worried about the long flight duration and how we should split that up. Here the options we have discussed:
- Economy class flight Frankfurt-Auckland with stop in Seoul (Korean Air) -> 1100 EUR
- Business class flight Frankfurt-Auckland with stop…
We are very excited about our second trip to New Zealand in April 2017. This time we will only be doing South Island, as we love its ruggedness and the fact that it has far fewer tourists. To our great consternation, however, we found out today that due to the earthquakes in the past number of years, a portion of the #1 East coast road is closed (between Mangamaunu and Clarence). Does anybody know of an alternative route so that we do not have to go back inland too far before heading up to…
Hey all... hopefully someone may be able to help me out..
I'm currently primary school teacher in the UK.
I'm off travelling in august and are going to apply for a working holiday visa for NZ.
However, whilst travelling and maybe working in a bar or what not, i would like to try and find a job in teaching and maybe become sponsored for a temporary visa.
SO... my question is, how likely is it that i will find a teaching job in NZ and become sponsored? x
I found a small old thread in the forum about it but it is quite old, from the time where there were no "budget" campervans that could fit a baby/toddler.
Spaceshiprentals http://www.spaceshipsrentals.co.nz/ advertise that their back seat supports a baby seat and points to the statement of someone who traveled with a baby, however I could not find any one other statement expect the one they point to in their website.
Does anyone have experience traveling with one of their campervans, or…

This van has been converted and houses a double bed and kitchen area in the back. It comes with a very comfortable double mattress, curtains on every window, and plenty of storage underneath the bed (lots of room for snow gear and skiing equipment). The car also has 5 sunroofs (one that opens) that are…
If you are looking to hire a car in Auckland, I would suggest you don't use Apple Rental Cars, especially the one in Albany. We picked Apple because Budget/Avis would not pick us up from our place near Coatesville. The Apple rep Dave Murphy (an American Ex-pat) was a no show at the pre arranged pick up time. It cost us almost 60 NZD to get a taxi to the car lot. Dave didn't seem to recall our arrangement at first, but more importantly the 'Tourist class' car (a Toyota corolla hatch) he…
Hi there everyone
I want to clear my doubts about a trip I'm booking soon for the end of the month.
I am going to be Queenstown, and I need to travel to India.
So I was planning to take a flight from Queenstown to Auckland and there take an international flight to Delhi (probably having to do overnight somewhere)
I was looking at the flights available and found this:
I leave from Queesntown on Sunday 02 at 1:40 Pm and arrive at Auckland at 3:30 PM
And then I leave Auckland at 7:30 PM
I've just moved to a hostel in Dunedin from the UK and I'm currently looking for a place or a way to watch the remaining Six Nations fixtures. Does anyone have any suggestions?
