Hi there, I am Hisham from Singapore. I am currently planning a 2 weeks road trip on the North Islands(tentatively Dec 17). However, I am in need of help to sort out how many days do I actually need to spend in each town. I have shortlisted my activities as per the list below :
Day 1 - Arrive in Auckland. Relax n rest.
Day 2 onwards, things to do in Coromandel** :
- Waitomo Glowworm Cave tour
- Dine in Paeroa, try the famous drink
- Discovery Walk
- Stargazing tours
Hi everyone, is it worth getting the Lonely Planet guides for the North and South islands separately or will the combo version of all of NZ be sufficient? Sometimes the guides which divide countries up have more info in them and I figured someone on here might have some intel on the NZ guides. Thanks in advance!!
I’m travelling with my partner from Europe to Australia and New Zealand in Nov/Dec. I’ve sorted out our AUS itinerary, but I’m having trouble deciding what to see in NZ.
We’ve got 21 full days (plus 2 days for arrival and departure – departure is already booked from Auckland), and we’ll be flying in from Melbourne. We’ll book a rental car for the whole duration of our stay.
I’ve researched a lot about travel suggestions during the past few weeks, and I’ve come to the conclusion that…
The visa asks 'In the five years prior to this application, have you spent (lived in and/or visited) a combined total of 3 months in any country or countries NOT considered to be low risk for TB.'
I have a dilemma in that i entered india on 21st feb and have been in high risk areas since. This means that i a under the 3 month threshold until the 20th or is it 21st of May? However I also spent 7 days in Portugal which surprising appears to not be the low risk guide below. As I am a uk citizen I…
Hi guys, I am Hisham, 27 years old male from Singapore. I am planning for a road trip on North Island New Zealand either on Dec 17 or Jan 18. I was thinking of driving a circle journey starting from Auckland till Rotorua and back to Auckland. I would like to ask if anyone can share tips/advice on my enquiries :
a) Is it safe to travel alone in new zealand ?
b) Will it be advisable to drive around from town to town if you are travelling alone then ?
c) Looking for travel buddies, preferably…
I’ll be traveling in June to New Zealand. I haven't booked anything but my flight in and out of Auckland from the States, so I'm still flexible. I’ve posted on another site and incorporated some of that advice and spaced out the South Island a bit more. Just looking to get a few more opinions.
I know it’s ambitious, especially considering the hours of daylight. I plan early mornings on the road where I can. I know it's lots of drive. I've done that type of trip before and happily survived. I'll…
I was hoping someone from NZ may be able to help me out with some information..
I have sent my teaching qualifications off to the NZQA to be assessed etc. Waiting to hear back.
However, I have read/heard that trying to get a primary school teaching job in NZ is very difficult, but in Auckland there are some. Is this the case?
I am slightly concerned I'll get to NZ and not be able to find a job! I'm going in a years time as i'm going to AUS first to travel, but its something that i'm…
I am going to visit New Zealand from early November till early December and will have 30 full days in NZ. I love to spend time in beautiful surroundings, e.g. going hiking in the Southern Alps (but not too strenuous) but also visiting beautiful stretches of coastline. I am interested in volcanic phenomena and watching animals in their natural habitat. In between I also like city life, art exhibitions, museums. I will travel alone most of the time and will use public buses for…
I am hoping to paddle the Whanganui River between now and May 20th. It is a 5 day trip. I am looking for a paddling partner as the outfitters will not rent to solo travelers. I have extensive canoe tripping experience and will cover canoe rental and shuttle, etc. I teach canoeing and river safety courses, so you will be in good hands safety wise. However, it is a river trip in autumn so staying warm is important. You would just need personal gear, a sense of adventure and food.
