I realise this is perhaps the most common type of question posed on this branch, so I thought I'd have a go as well :). Any advice would be really appreciated. I am sorry that this has ended up a bit long and I hope it still makes sense!
I am from the UK and planning to apply for the WHV at the end of this year. I will be 35 so this is the special Bunac IEP 12-month one. It is the last year I can get it, assuming the NZ govt continue with the scheme. If I apply, I am led to…
I’d be very happy if someone could give me some advice. I’m going to NZ on WHS next year in February.
I can’t decide where to start hunting a job: whether in Auckland, Queenstown or Christchurch. What do you think is better for a start? I know there is http://www.trademe.co.nz/ where I can find a lot, but I don’t know if agencies are better or just walk around city asking for a job. What would you choose if you were me?

Hi I've never been to New Zealand and as it's comparatively cheap to get there, I am thinking about doing my next cycling tour there next year. I can't go in February or early March but I can go from mid to late march through April or later.
Is this a nice time to travel in New Zealand from any perspective? I do have enough warm gear now that I've just done a spring time Japan tour and I imagine there are similarities in the temperatures between those two periods.
Where would be beautiful to…
Hello fellow travellers,
I am thinking about visiting New Zealand by myself in December. I don't want to drive. But I am not sure where I can get to by public transit. So am having a difficult time trying to figure out an itinerary. Most itineraries I found in this forum need to hire a car. Any suggestions / advices?
I currently hold a NZ Visa and OZ Visa. I am in OZ just now and have just started my 2nd year. My plan was to have a NZ and OZ for 2 years running beside each other. However i turn 31 at the end of August.
Now i've enabled my NZ visa, runs out in December 2015 and i always intended to apply for 2nd year when i got over there again, which would be October. But i will be 31 meaning i cant apply according to the immigration website.
I already have a SE Asia trip booked in on 25th of August…
My wife, son (who will be 1 1/2 at the time of travel) are spending 16 days in New Zealand over christmas (Dec 26-Jan 10) and are having trouble coming up with the south island portion of our trip. We're arrive in Picton on the 1st of January and can depart from either Queenstown or Christchurch on the 10th.
So far, what I've come up with is this:
Jan 1 Picton to Christchurch
Jan 2 Christchurch to Greymouth (Via Arthurs Pass)
Jan 3 Greymouth Franz Joseph/ Fox Glacier
Jan 4 Fox Glacier…
I'm looking to go New Zealand in November and need some help with the itinerary. So far from my research I'm looking to go Auckland, Paihia, Rotorua, taupo, Wellington, Nelson, Christchurch, Franz Josef and Queenstown. I'm planning on going for 3 weeks so don't think I will be able to fit all these in so would really appreciate knowing which ones should I cut down and how long I should spend at each one. Also any recommended activities that are worth doing.
