Brewery activities in New Zealand

  1. A

    Invercargill Brewery

Tastings are free of charge, and if you’re a real beer buff, the staff may be able to show you around the brewery. Phone ahead to check. Our favourites are the crisp Biman Pilsner and the hoppy Stanley Green Pale Ale. Regular seasonal brews include the Smokin’ Bishop, a German-style rauchbier made with smoked malt.

  2. B

    West Coast Brewing Co

Taste up to a dozen craft beers, including the organic Green Fern lager and a notable India pale ale. Pop in for a tasting, or get a rigger to go (or, quite possibly, pull up a stool and struggle to leave).

  3. C

    Speight’s Brewery

Speight’s has been churning out beer on this site since the late 1800s. The 90-minute tour (noon, 2pm, 4pm, 6pm, plus 10am and 7pm in summer) offers samples of Speight’s six different beers.
