Boat

The fast ferry Betico sails three times a week from Noumea to Lifou and Maré, and once a week to Ouvéa. The fare for trips from Noumea to any of the islands is 6200/12, 400 CFP one way/return. Another option is the slower cargo boat Havannah, which also takes passengers. Travelling between the islands costs 3300 CFP.

Air

Air Calédonie (28 78 88; www.air-caledonie.nc; 39 rue de Verdun) operates at least one flight a day between Noumea and each of the Loyalty Islands. A one-way/return flight costs around 11, 600/23, 500 CFP. There are no direct flights between the Loyalty Islands.
