Vinayak caters to all budgets; the Rs 450 rooms are the best choice, being clean and comfortable with homely armchairs, TV and nice bathrooms. The obtrusive air-coolants in the corridors don’t add much to the charm.

This big old-fashioned conference hotel is set in sprawling grounds on the way to the border. The huge rooms are set around a grassy courtyard full of royal palms. It has an excellent restaurant here.
