Hi All,

I'll be trekking the Three Passes in late September and don't want to hire my porter or porter-guide until I arrive at Namche Bazaar. I know I can hire in Lukla, but are there any trekking companies or private individuals in Namche that we can hire?

Thanks,
Bruce

Hey Everyone,

I plan to travel to Nepal for a 13 day trek to Annapurna Base Camp. It will be my first time trekking and traveling to Nepal. I plan to go there sometime in April and was wondering if anyone here has experienced trekking ABC and perhaps provide some tips and information for my prep. I mostly worry about food intake while trekking. I know food won't be an issue when we stop, as there are many cafes along the way.

Another concern I have is what kind of clothing should I bring.

I am thinking of doing the Mardi Himal trek and are wondering of some things:

  1. How are the weather in early november or in late februari? What can i expect in terms of rain, snow and temperature?

  2. Are there blankets i the guesthouses? I only have a thin sleepingbag...

  3. How many trekkers are there on this route?

  4. Do i need a guide to find my way?

  5. Can my guesthose in Kth or Pokhara arrange all permits before i arrive in Nepal? (I have a tight schedule)

Hello everyone,

I am doing the EBC trek in September. On the way back , from Lukla, instead of taking the flight to Kathmandu, I would like to walk back to a distance, from where I hear, we get the bus to Kathmandu.

With regards to the same, had a few queries.

Hear that there are couple , or more routes, either from Lukla or Namche, which head to different villages from where we can take the road journey by jeep or bus to Kathmandu. So which are the villages, what is the route, which is the…

Hi, I am looking at climbing Tent Peak in the Annapurna region in October 2016. Has anyone climbed this peak before? Any advice as a first-time climb?
Also, I am looking at booking through Mountain Monarch and have read many great reviews. Please send me a message with your experience...
I am travelling solo and hoping to joining a group, so if anyone is keen to join, I am sure it would be possible.

Hi! Thinking about doing the Langtang trek by myself over 8 days starting at the beginning of next week (last week in July). I speak Nepali somewhat ok and have experience trekking in Nepal but am not sure:
is it viable to do this trek at this time of year?
how survivable is the bus trip from Ktm to Syabru considering it is monsoon season?
has risk of landslides on the road and trail been upped by earthquake?
is it permitable to go solo by myself without risking being stopped at check points along…

Hello,

I will be in Pokhara around mid December this year and am planning on doing the Annapurna Panorama Trek starting in Naya Pul. Does anybody have any suggestions on what the best method of travel would be for getting from Pokhara to Naya Pul? Thanks for your help!

Hi all,

I'm planning to go to EBC and perhaps back through Gokyo valley on the way down for a total trekking time of about 2.5 weeks, in October.
Would be grateful for some more general information: Is everything up and running up there? flights to/from Lukla more or less on schedule? teahouses active? would the trail be alive with trekkers? any government issues or trail blockages?
Thanks
Amit

Hi, I've been trying for some time to find information about climbing Dhampus peak as part of the Dhaulagiri circuit, and hope I may find hear someone who made it (preferably indipendently).
My questions are:
1. How much time does it take to ascend and descend it?
2. Is it practical to ascend to the peak and descend directly to Yak Kharka in the same day?
3. Is there an arranged place to camp near the peak for better start (not the regular camping place roughly at the center of the hidden valley)?
