    I am scared of heights, so it came as a surprise to me that I would want to try tandem paragliding. I initially booked a short flight within Pokhara, but then decided that it was worth a bit more money to do a cross country paragliding expedition!

    I booked a x-country with Babu Sunuwar as my pilot. The trip started with a bus ride up the hills to Sirkot, and then a jeep off road ride further up Sirkot, till we reached the soon-to-be-completed paragliding academy.

    Weather was not in our favor, so we camped out that night. The staff at the camp were not prepared for 4 campers, but did a marvellous job churning out some meals for us with what they had on hand.

    The next day, we took off, with the hopes of reaching Pokhara by flight, but the wind was against us. Nevertheless, we took off and was that ever an experience!

    Sailing through the clouds, about 1500-2000m above sea level with the wind in your face, and pure silence...bliss (till I got a bit dizzy for looking down too much - my fault).

    We landed in a field, hiked for an hour and caught the bus back to Pokhara...a pretty fab way to spend 2 days if you ask me!
