Immigration office/visa extensions

Central Immigration Office (4223590, 42236817; www.immi.gov.np; Bhrikuti Mandap; 10am-5pm Sun-Fri, 11am-4pm Sat & public holidays) next to the central Tourism Directorate, home of the Tourist Service Centre, this offers relatively painless visa extensions of 30 days. Get a form, join the queue, supply one photo and then join a separate queue to pay the US$30 fee (in rupees). If you apply before 2pm you should get your passport back the same day at 3.30pm.
