Lonely Planet review
This hotel is built in a traditional style with oil bricks, Newari-style carved wooden lintels and stone waterspouts, brought up to date with dramatic orange walls and black trim. The rooms are big enough to tango in and there are pleasant seating areas far removed from the Thamel madness. That said, the scuffed and peeling rooms are starting to need some serious renovation.
A small massage room, cosy library and bar create a sociable environment. Rates include breakfast and taxes.
Our independent authors have visited Hotel Courtyard and selected this as one of our recommended boutique hotels in Kathmandu.
