Hi, I will be in Nepal a few weeks on project in later July and into August. I am staying an extra week to see and experience country beyond the Dhulikhel area I'll be in. I'm considering taking time to travel to Lumbini and Buddha's birthplace. What do you recommend for ground transportation to Lumbini and back? Might there be something along the way to also see? Any favorite lodging in Lumbini that is unique? Thanks,
I have an opportunity to stay with a family in Nepal. I have become very friendly with a woman that works at the bodega I frequent every morning. She has offered for her sister/brother to show me around and more or less offered to stay with her family. This seems like an incredible opportunity to be with a local family and truly immerse myself in the culture. My question is, what do you recommend I pay for fair compensation? Any advice is greatly appreciated.
Hi! I'm planning a trip next year to Nepal and EBC (organised group). I am extremely eager to do this and have dreamed of it for years and the only thing now keeping me from the decision is the flight to and from Lukla. We are doing a trek in the Kanchenjunga region in October 2016 and are trying to get accurate information about which airlines fly in and out of the Taplejung (Sukhetar airstrip) airport. Is it only Nepal Airlines, or do other companies have service there? Thank you . . . .
Hi, I am thinking of visiting Nepal wither this coming October or February. I have looked over the travel books but would respect your opinion. I am not a trekker and will not be hiking. I go to Nepal for the culture and scenery. Views are important to me so the time of year is critical. What are the pros and cons for these two times of the year. What places/regions in the country do you feel worthwhile to visit? In advance, thank you. Eric
I'm going to be in Pokhara for about a month during November. I'm looking to stay at a guesthouse that is a social enterprise (ie a business that's set up to support a school or other kind of non-profit). Does anyone know of any guesthouse like this in Pokhara?
Also, I'm looking to do some volunteer work while I'm there. I have experience establishing volunteer programs, and also on setting up child protection policies for organisations that work with children. If anyone knows of an NGO…
