Is this exchange rate fixed everywhere in Nepal(including hotels and shops) or only at certain places ?
I heard they don't accept 500 and 1,000 notes. Is this true ? Do I need to worry for it ?
Can I change in the banks, will there be any fees or commissions for each exchange ?
I understand as a foreigner, I can apply both easily within a day with a photostated copy of my passport and 2 passport size photos for each.
My question let's say I applied them for Ghorepani Poon Hill Trek and on the way eg Gandruk , I change my mind and decide to do ABC or Jomson trek, is it possible ?
Anyone familiar with these 2 bus journeys. According to LP, Mahendranagar to Pokhara takes a longer time but it seems nearer on the map.
I need to decide on my itinerary before arriving from Sunauli. I need to visit both Kathmandu and Pokhara and leave via Majendranagar.
Can anyone advise on the bus times available and the fare ? How many types of buses are there available for this route ? 16 hours seems too long and boring. If I wish to break the journey, is there any nice town or village with…
I am looking to trek ABC with 7 days (Dec 12-18) on the trail and have some questions that perhaps someone can help me out with. It will be my first time in Nepal.
A) What would be the best itinerary if I would like to:
- skip Poon Hill
- pass through Ghandruk, Landruk and Australian Camp (for some cultural touch before reaching ABC and nice mountain views on the return leg)
- stay overnight in ABC for the sunset view and night view (hopefully reaching there on a full moon night or the night after…
I will arrive in Katmandu on a Saturday morning (around 6:30), and leave for Lukla Monday morning. My total stay will be 35 days, so I am contemplating whether I should obtain a 30 day visa upon entry and then extend it by another 15 days (70$ in total) rather than paying 100$ for 90 days. However I am a little worried that Nepalese bureaucracies might not be on my side ...
In theory it should work, but can I be rather sure that I will be able to get my extension in time, meaning going…
I wish to do this trek. I have read that some did it in 3 days but ideally 4.
Is 3 days/2nights possibe from Pokhara and back with bus or jeep to Naya Pul ?
If I come by bus from Kathmandu, will there be a near way avoiding Pokhara ? Will I still start from Naya Pul ?
Where will you prospose to stay overnight for best views, more choice of rooms or more to do at night ?
Will all the stops for overnight have room with seat toiletand 24 hrs hat shower ?
Or must I share will a few others in a room ?
I know many similar requests have been posted, but I'd like some help choosing a trek and itinerary for my trip to Nepal next week. I will fly into KTM on October 3 and fly out October 15. That would give me about 10 days to trek, I assume. I am deciding between ABC, AC (which I assume must be a shortened version based on my time constraints), and Langtang, although I am open to other options. I am generally a fast trekker with some experience of sleeping at higher altitudes (up to…
