Pikey

Hi fellow trekkers,
Anybody went up from Lamjura La to Pikey Peak? I'm thinking about returning to Nepal this fall. Walking out to Shivalaya it would be nice to go up to Pikey Peak for a last view. Would it be doable as a daytrip when overnighting in the bhatti on top of Lamjura, or would it be better to search for a lodge below Pikey? Thnx in advance, Frans

Hi,
I'm wondering how many days I should plan for that part of my trip. Also I'm reading about Jeeps to get from various places to Tumlingtar - would it be easy enough to organize them on the spot? How much might that cost?
We'll be trekking unsupported but will be acclimatized since if we get to makalu BC we'll have crossed East and West Col ....

Cheers
Felix

I'm looking at going to Nepal for 5-8 weeks in January and February and I'll be travelling solo. I'm planning on starting in Kathmandu, but I'm willing to go wherever I find something worth doing/seeing. I'm planning on doing a lot of outdoor activities as well as cultural excursions, but one of my main focuses is doing a teahouse trek.

I want a trek that is 10-15 days, but I'd be willing to adjust that if I could the perfect trek. I'm in my early 20s and in relatively good shape, so I'm not…

Hello! Does anyone know if there are any teahouses at Luz, or anywhere else between Dhole and Machhermo, on the Gokyo trail? Hoping to spend a night at Mong Dang (a little under 3900m?) the night before going to Dhole, so it would be good to sleep a little higher than Dhole (4040m), but not as high as Machhermo (4410), to aid acclimatisation. If that's not possible, does anyone know whether there are opportunities to walk above the village of Dhole (other than on the trail to Machhermo), and…

Hi, I will be in Nepal a few weeks on project in later July and into August. I am staying an extra week to see and experience country beyond the Dhulikhel area I'll be in. I'm considering taking time to travel to Lumbini and Buddha's birthplace. What do you recommend for ground transportation to Lumbini and back? Might there be something along the way to also see? Any favorite lodging in Lumbini that is unique? Thanks,

Hi,

I have an opportunity to stay with a family in Nepal. I have become very friendly with a woman that works at the bodega I frequent every morning. She has offered for her sister/brother to show me around and more or less offered to stay with her family. This seems like an incredible opportunity to be with a local family and truly immerse myself in the culture. My question is, what do you recommend I pay for fair compensation? Any advice is greatly appreciated.

Hi! I'm planning a trip next year to Nepal and EBC (organised group). I am extremely eager to do this and have dreamed of it for years and the only thing now keeping me from the decision is the flight to and from Lukla. I have a slight fear of flying in general and I'm not the most thrill seeking person around. So all this about Lukla are terrifying. If I google Lukla I will only get tons of hits about "the worlds most dangerous airport" etc. As far as I have read there have only been one fatal…
