Getting there & away

You can walk, cycle, take a minibus (easiest from Bodhnath) or hire a taxi to Gokarna. For the latter, expect to pay a Rs 500 return fare from Kathmandu or Rs 150 one way from Bodhnath.

For a great day out on a mountain bike you can combine a visit to the temple with a trip to Sankhu; it's more enjoyable if you avoid the heavy traffic and set off from Jorpati.
