Leaving Pretoria early June I have a seat available in my 4x4 heading up to the Okavango either via Krueger Park or the Trans Kalagadi Park possibly the Kalahari Park or Etosha can be discussed. Share diesel, Park and camping fees. You will need your own tent etc. Cooking facilities available (no fridge). For easy going chill person.
Hello fellow travellers, I'm a solo female traveller & will be in Namibia today until May 29, 2016, staying at Chameleon. I'm looking to share car rental and expenses to explore the country or join a tour. Points of interest include Sossusvlei, Swakopmund, Etosha and up flexible for other destinations.
My GF and I have hired a 2wd Toyota Corolla for a self drive in and out of Windhoek. Excluding pick up days we've 23 days - in July - and want a relatively relaxing trip with some days off from behind the wheel. Is this enough time to see Sossusvlei, Spitzkoppe, Etosha and the Okavango and get back to Windhoek? Grateful for any input.
We are two people (both holding international driving license) wish travel accross Namibia from 29 April to 5 May 2016. We wonder whether we can share a car with someone who wish to travel at the same period and can negotiate the places to visit.
A friend and I are planning an 8 days trip in Namibia. We are thinking about renting a car, and would like some recommendations for rental agencies.
We would also like some feedback on our travel itinerary, what we should include on the way or if it is something not worth seeing. Please include why. And we are also a little unsure about the driving distance, though they seem fine at google maps; we have read that you usually end up spending more time on the road than you initially thought. We…
we are planning a trip overland by truck from Victoria Falls to Cape Town through Botswana and Namibia. We’d like to start our journey around middle of January and it will take us almost 1 month.
Here is our itinerary, more or less this is what we’d love to do:
Johannesburg – Victoria falls
Victoria falls - Kasane
Kasane Chobe National park – Nata –Kubu Island
Kubu Island – Gweta (Planet Baobab) - Maun
Maun – Moremi game reserve
Maun –borders Namibia – Popa Falls – Rundu
I'm renting a car in Namibia this summer and hold an Italian driving license. Since it's written in roman characters, I won't need an international driving permit to rent the car. However, the rental car company (Avis) told me that the Namibian police may request in case they stop me at a checkpoint.
It's little bit of a hassle to get one from me, as I live in the US, but not impossible, if I need to. However, if your experience is different (and you are sure no international…
I'm headed to Namibia for 2 months with my husband and our 1 year old twins. We will be based with friends in Windhoek, but plan to do a lot of camping while we're there. We won't be doing anything too extreme because of the kids, so will probably stick with 2WD accessible spots, for the most part, but would consider renting a 4WD for some trips.
1) We have a great tent, mattress, sleeping bags, etc... I'm wondering if we should bring these or rent in Namibia. Any advice one way or the…
I want to go in june with a VW Polo from Opuwo to Epupa. In the forum I have read that this is quite possible. At my request, I heard from the Kpaika Lodge: The road is currently not in good condition, but a 4 x 4 is not required but definitely a SUV vehicle no limousine car.
Is there anyone who has current information about the state of the road C 43? Gravel roads with a limousine are generally not a problem for me. The question is whether increased wheel height is necessary for deep sand on the…
