Ye

We have just spent a few pleasant days at the beach near Dawei, which is quite a cute little town.
We left Mawlamymine after our second visit to this lovely town, many days ago. The Cinderella is still as good as ever and their food is first rate. We were told at reception that we ( as foreigners) were unable to buy a train ticket to Ye so we decided to check this out for ourselves. Just up from the Breeze is a motorbike hire shop ( and billiard hall). Out to the station and yes no problem…

Going to Myanmar in November 2015

Hi,
My girlfriend and I are going to Myanmar the next November (i.e. one year from now :)). We will have 5 weeks and would like to explore as much we can get. I know that we will have a year until we go but from our research the places that we want to do are:
1- Old Bagan
2- Mrauk-U
3- Mandalay
4- Yangon
5- Monte Popa
6- Inle Lake
7- Kyaiktiyo Pagoda
8- Shwe Myit Zu Pagoda
9- Loikaw
10- Ngwesaung Beach

Are we missing something? We want to have as much cultural, historic and natural…

OWAY Travels and Tour; Fast Boat; Trekking Poles

Hi,
Three questions:
1) Can anyone vouch for the services provided by OWAY Travels and Tour? I will be booking domestic airline tickets using this company, for travel within Myanmar and want to verify their customer service record.
2) Can anyone tell me if there are fast boats (9 hours) operating between Mandalay and Bagan? Guidebooks mention irregular/part time service for these boats. I want to make the trip in mid-late March if possible.
3) Has anyone packed trekking poles in a carry on bag…

Bagan Balloon Ride

We are a group of 3 people travelling on Jan 15 to Bagan and we are thinking about going for a Bagan Balloon ride.
Is it 100% safe? Did you hear about any accident in Bagan? I couldn't find any information on internet about safety in Myanmar.

Travelling from Bagan to Ngapali

Hey!

I'll be visiting Myanmar for the first time in a little over a week from now. All my internal flights are booked, with the exception of Bagan to Ngapali Beach (Thandwe).

It seems almost impossible to get a flight between the two (on 4th January). Best case is flying via Yangon with an overnight stopover, which I'm not keen on, as it is as slow as taking the bus.

Can anyone advise me on the best way to get from Bagan to Ngapali by land. Any reasonable night buses, train services, pickups…
