Lonely Planet review for Casa de Ferro
Just off the Praça de Independência is the Casa de Ferro, which was designed by Eiffel in the late 19th century as the governor's residence, though its metal-plated exterior proved unsuitable for tropical conditions.

nhatinha recommends this,
The Casa de Ferro now works as the Museum Department for the Mozambique Government and works during the weekdays. Somebody told me there is a cafe there, but I didn't find it.
Beware of photos here and on most public buildings in Maputo - they are forbidden and the police will give you a hard time if the catch you. You can get a few shots from inside the botanical gardens.
