My husband and I are going to Morocco for our honeymoon in mid-September and will be there for 3.5 weeks. We're flying in and out of Marrakesh and will be renting a car. I'd love any thoughts / suggestions on our itinerary! I've included driving times based on google maps, so not sure how accurate these are. Does this plan seem doable? Or is this too much driving / too fast a pace? Is there anything in particular we should cut to save time? Or add because it's awesome? Thank you!
I'm going to be in Morocco with the missus, from mid-September to mid-October. Does anyone have an idea on when the Erfoud Date Feast would take place? I'm guessing the answer is "when the harvest is ready," which likely fluctuates... Still, any insider information would be great. Thanks!
There are some mountains and cave paintings near Awsard I'd really love to see.
I have no experience beyond the coastal highway. A kid I met in Layyoune told me "some day you should come with me to visit my family behind the Berm" as if it were the easiest thing in the world. Maybe accompanied by a local it would be easy.
Will the roadblocks let tourists (American) into the interior in the first place? And what about places like Awsard which are just military/Peace Corps bases? And finally, what…
Hi! I'm planing to go to Dakhla for a kitesurf trip and would like to rent a car once i get there. Is that possible or is it better to rent a car online? Any sugestion?
What about cheap acommodation?
We are going to Morocco in 2 days and want to rent a car for the trip from Fes to Marakech through Merzouga, Todra and Dades Valley, maybe with a stop in the mountains or anywhere interesting. We are a couple and would like to share a car with some travellers, but we only have 5-6 days for this route. Will leave Fes Sunday 28 August. Anyone wants to join us?
Let's quickly introduce ourselves first. We are a Belgian couple who drove an old Land Rover Defender all around Africa, passing 35 countries in 15 months and 69.181kms. That was in 2012-2013. Three years later, we have two kids (actually 1 son of 2 years old and another one who was just born last week) and ever since we left the African continent, we have been dreaming of going back. So now we have 3 months of maternity leave, it seems to be the perfect time to go back where we left Africa and…
On a whim, I bought a ticket to Morocco, knowing very little about it.
I'll be arriving and departing from Casa Oct 25-Nov9.
I'm an experienced solo traveler on a tight budget.
Not really interested in cities that much, but of course will have to visit Fez and Marrakesh.
Interested in food, nature, and meeting the locals.
Got any ideas for out of the way / quirky places I should make the effort to see?
Are you going to be in Morocco in the same time, and looking for a travel…
I've seen lots of posts around shorter desert treks, but I'm looking for some of your experience, feedback and recommendations for longer treks. We'll be in Morocco in December for 10 days and want to spend 8 days (incl travel to and from Marrakesh) in the desert, ideally on our own as we are mixed ages. We want to camp wild.
I've found one outfit that seems to do a great job of covering what we're after, but I'd like a grounds for comparison
I'm going to be in Morocco from 20 September till 15 October. I'm looking for someone who would like to come with me on a desert tour of 4 days and 2 nights or 3 days and 2 nights from Marrakesh to Erg Chebbi or Er Chigaga with Topdesert company.
My husband and I are planning a trip to Marrakech in early March (possibly May) Wondering if anyone has any favorite day trips from Marrakech? We are slightly more comfortable with guided tours / services as it's our first time in North Africa. We are open to all kinds of activities, just would like to know the best experiences. Links would be great for the tours! :) Thanks!
