Oriole Walkway information
Montserrat’s most popular hiking trail cuts for 1.3 miles through the tropical Centre Hills to the top of Lawyer’s Mountain, from where you’ll have bird’s-eye views of the island. Speaking of birds: keep an eye out for the black and yellow Montserrat Oriole, the national bird, that makes its home in the treetops. The tourist office has a map (EC$10) and a comprehensive Guide to the Centre Hills (EC$40). Local nature-guide extraordinaire James ‘Scriber’ Daley runs 2½-hour walking tours for EC$135 per person.
