The major cashmere and wool factories are Goyo (Mongolian-American joint venture), Gobi Cashmere (government-owned) and Buyan (owned by the prominent politician Jargalsaikhan). Excellent products can be purchased at the Gobi Cashmere Shop opposite the Russian Embassy.

    One of the leading in the world, Gobi Cashmere Factory has opened its largest in the town Cashmere Factory Store in July 2008, in Industrial Street of Ulaanbaatar City. The Factory Store building was used as a warehouse previously and renovated into store by world famous Japanese architect Sako Kei Ichiro with very nice contemporary architect and interior design.
    1150 square meter store offers every need for shopper, including large variety of luxurious cashmere and wool products for women, men, youth and children, made to measure - custom made coat ready in 2 days, dry cleaning and alteration center, high quality food and coffee at Mirage Restaurant connected to the store, large parking space, modern air conditioning system, “showcase”, fitting room and others. Mirage restaurant is managed by Kempinski Hotel in Ulaanbaatar and has a German chief. During summer time, in the evening, Gobi Factory store, together with Mirage restaurant organizes concerts of traditional folk music for tourists.
    Since 2010, Gobi Factory started working together with famous Italian designer Saverio Palatella. “Gobi by Saverio Palatella” brand shop is located inside of the Gobi Factory Store, which offers printed cashmere and other products with extraordinary artistic designs.
