Lonely Planet review for Ananda Café & Meditation Centre
Enjoy herbal teas and some excellent vegetarian dishes made from rice, buckwheat, tofu, lentils and other natural products. Vegetarian buuz and khuushuur are also available. Profits from the café go to supporting a local orphanage, the Lotus Children's Centre, and as the name suggests, yoga classes are available, as are vegetarian cooking classes.

Not sure this exists any longer
thepindoctor does not recommend this,
I walked up and down Baga Toyruu twice looking for the Ananda Cafe yesterday and today, but for the life of me, I couldn't find the place. It either no longer exists, or is so well hidden, it might as well not exist.
Shame, as it sounded nice :(

A meditative lunch
guajiraska recommends this,
Under a heavy meat rain, this little café appeared as a sunlight for a vegetarian like me. Mongolia is not the most friendly place for a veggie-eater, so Ananda Café was for me a great discovery!
While I was waiting for eating something, I drank a cup – or maybe two or three cups – of their sensational herbal tea (no, they don’t serve beer here…) and I spent some minutes reading about spirituality on a magazine I found there. Lulled by meditative music I was hearing, I concentrated on a representation of the seven chakras: suddenly, every dish at Ananda Café appeared linked to them. I was becoming more and more hungry, and the colours of the chakras suggested me what to eat.
So I thought: “Cabbage symbolizes Muladhara, the red chakra: it will help me to explore the basic potentialities of life.
Carrots represent Swadhisthana, the orange chakra: I’ll purchase a good energy from them.
Peppers impersonate Manipura, the yellow chakra: they should be useful for my intellect.
Cucumbers sketch the outlines of Anahata, the green chakra: they will increase my feelings of love and harmony.
Blueberry juice illustrates Vishuddha, the celestial blue chakra: drinking it could improve my communicativeness.
Eggplants lead me to Ajna, the indigo chakra: they are a good way to reach an acceptable intuitive level.
Purple onions embody Sahasrara, the violet chakra: I’ll pay more attention to my spiritual sphere after eating them”.
And I think I was right: I enjoyed my first spiritual lunch! Ananda Café leaded me to another dimension, appealing to my heart and giving me the chance to gather in a meditative mood, even if I was there just to eat something. When I went out, I began to see Ulaanbaatar under a different light and I felt better.Good for: atmosphere, food, Solo Travellers, service
