I will go to Mongonlia with my girl friend from 4/6-9/6. Anyone want to go togther at that time so we can share the tour cost? I would like to join a 3-4 days Gobi tour or Terelj&Khustai NP, Central Mongolia tour. Is there anyone who can recommend some good tour guide for us? Thanks.
I'm looking for some advice, i am taking the Trans-Mongolian Express and stopping in Ulan Bator for 5 days. I was wondering realistically what could I fit in. From what i have read i probably need a day in Ulan Bator. Leaving 4 days to get out and see some of the county.
Should i pre book a trip or will be easy to organise something once i am there?
Can anyone recommend a good trip that would allow me to see the best Mongolia has to offer?
Does anyone have experience of the trains and how…

We would like to travel independently from the Khosgvol Lake (Hatgal or Murum) to Olgii (Ulgii) this July or August. I am not finding much information. Has anyone taken that road? I am thinking there must be local buses or buses linking major towns for the locals to travel?
We would prefer to avoid going back to UB and back again to the West.
I will be in Mongolia in a couple of months. I have read that there are petty thieves in some of the markets in the bigger cities but what about in the smaller towns. As an example if you leave your motorcycle in a smaller town with all your camping gear tied to the motorcycle and go into a restaurant would you when you returned 1 hour later expect to find it gone?
Apologies as this is a bit of a repost from a while ago but I've used this forum on and off over the years and always found it very helpful, particularly for a trip I made in Mongolia a few years ago. I don't often post in return, but I have put a lot of information such as itineraries, prices, photos etc, at my website. I think it would be useful for anyone thinking of a similar trip.
There's also an ebook on sale there - it's a short(ish) account of the Mongolian trip, and all the…
My wife and I are UK passport holders living in KL, Malaysia. We want to visit Mongolia this summer so need a visa but there is no Mongolian consulate or embassy in our country. We will be entering Mongolia via train from Beijing.
Anyone know how we can get a visa or if a visa on arrival is available at the Mongolian / Chinese border!!!
One option would be to go to Bangkok for a long weekend. Does anyone also know if the Mongolian embassy offers fast tracked visas in a day?? Can't find…
Last year we travelled for three weeks with Horseback around Mongolia and we made a shortfilm called UNTIL THERE - A Mongolian Tale. If you wish to experience the atmosphere of this very mystical & beautiful country take a look ;)
Hope you enjoy it!
We plan to travel by bus from UB to Kharkhorin and Tsetserleg in June 2016.
We expect to arrive by train in the morning at 7:50. Can we catch the bus in the same morning to Kharkhorin ?
Some said the bus departs at 8 am, some said at 11:00 am. Will there be a bus at 11:00 am from UB to Kharkhorin.
After two days in Kharkhorin, we will go to Tsetserleg but we could not find any bus information from Kharkhorin to Tsetserleg. Thanks if you have any bus information for this route or we need to…
