This place leans toward fine dining, with an elegant bar, refreshing garden patio and a menu priced like an upscale Mexican restaurant in California. It’s one of the more popular spots in town.

    Real Mexican food and Exemplary Service

    We have been to Tlaquepaque three times now and we make sure that we eat.. no.. Dine at this restaurant at least two or three times every time we visit. On our last visit we had just been to Oaxaca before we arrived in Tlaquepaque and the Mole' at the Casa Fuerte was as authentic and delicious as any we tasted in Oaxaca. The atmosphere is very nice, set in a courtyard with so many trees and vines you may be forgiven for thinking you are dining in the jungle. Mariachis regularly pop in to entertain the diners and the service is some of the best service you will find anywhere. In my opinion it gives most fine dining restaurants a run for their money. Speaking of which, the prices are extremely reasonable given the quality of everything you get. The Casa Fuerte has never let us down in the hygene stakes either. We always make sure that we eat here on the night before we travel as we know we can rest assured in the knowledge that Montezuma will not be having his revenge in Guadalajara airport.
