Hoping to get your advice on something. My boyfriend and I are looking to move down to Mexico for a few months next year starting around March. We'd like to stay in one town and rent a room/ apartment/ house while we work, blog and study online. If we could order up our perfect place it would be a chill surf town with a kind of bohemian vibe, youngish expat community (we're 28 & 30) but still being able to get immersed in authentic local culture. Also, not too pricey, maybe $500/month…
We have been planning to settle in Mexico, but recently "discovered" Chile as a possible alternative.
Would appreciate some input from my Mexico community. Has anyone lived in both places, or considered Chile and decided to settle in Mexico or the reverse. Cost of living differences etc Preferences for the culture of one over the other.
As you can see, I am struggling here. If you have any input, please share it with us, it would be appreciated.
I'll be visiting Mexico City during the Independence Day celebrations this year. Since there's so much to see I'm trying to plan in advance as much as possible, does anyone know if the major museums (Templo Mayor/Bellas Artes/Antropologia) are open on the 16th of September? Also, is it possible to visit the pyramids at Teotihuacan that day?
I'm planning a trip to Playa del Carmen near Cancun and Cuba over Christmas for 14 days (12/19 to 1/2). We're trying to decide whether to spend more time in Playa/Mexico or Cuba. In Playa we were planning on spending a few days relaxing on the beach and a few days exploring--going off to ruins, hiking, etc. We could do most anything in Cuba--stay around Havana, spend time on the beach, or explore the country. I'll be with my girlfriend and neither of us is really interested in partying/night…
I'm planning a long three-four day weekend to Mexico. We're looking for colonial architecture, art and culture, a day trip out of the city, and possibly outdoor activities.
Any thoughts on Puebla, Queretaro, or Oaxaca? Any other places you would recommend as alternatives? Since it's a short trip, we would prefer to travel someplace with a direct flight from Houston.
i would like to drive into mexico and Stay within the border and come back to tx at night. . I have consider crossing to nuevo laredo, reynosa, or matamoros. How much of hassle would it be to cross ?
Also, what requirements do i need to cross the border in a car?
I do have a passport.
My husband and I are visiting Cancun for our first time. We are in our mid-30s, love the nature and outdoors. Although it will be a short trip, with only 4 whole days, we'd really like to see Calakmul, along with other Mayan ruins along the way. Could someone kindly advise if our itinerary is feasible? Other than Calakmul, I am very open to new ideas, in regard with adding or dropping any interest points. Thank you all very much.
arrive at 8pm - check in Cancun hotel, Playa del…
Hi there !
So I'm from Europe and I'm planning on spending a summer in the US and in Mexico with the financial help of an organism that gives grants to very young people with a specific project that they've prepared before leaving. I'd like to leave either next summer or the next one. The problem is that on both of those summers I won't be 18 yet (as I was born in September...). Even though I've already done tone of researches on the area I want to visit and study, it seems like in America and…
