Lonely Planet review
The classy, contemporary Azul has a Francisco Toledo-designed fountain in the cactus-walled rear patio, and suites adorned with work by other renowned Oaxacan artists and sculptors. The very comfy standard rooms are in minimalist black, white and red with plenty of quality touches.
The courtyard restaurant serves a mix of traditional Oaxacan and fusion dishes (mains M$96–258), and the hotel also boasts an in-house gallery and a roof terrace with bar in the evenings.
Our independent authors have visited Hotel Azul and selected this as one of our recommended boutique hotels in Oaxaca City.
