This branch covers travel to and around Mexico.

Here are some tips to help you find the information you want and need:

1. Research before asking a question. It will help you get better, more detailed and useful answers from the community if you've already done some homework. It's also polite. The community is here to help, but we're not your personal search engine. Invest some preliminary time and we'll help you fill in the gaps.

Hi all

I'm a keen diver and like to see big wildlife - sharks, whales, rays etc. I was thinking of going to Cabo Pulmo to dive for a long weekend in the next month or so but am not sure that that is the best time to go weather wise to see this type of marine life. Does anywhere know the area well to give tip as to what I might see, when.

Separately I am thinking of a weekend trip to La Paz, with the aim of doing a day trip to Espiritu Santo. Are these trips worth it in terms of things to see…

My family is renting a house in Cabo from the 25th-1, I was thinking of flying to San Diego and then driving to Cabo. Thinking of taking 5 days which would put us leaving around 12/19 or around there and traveling over Christmas. I am looking for any thoughts on renting a car, I heard renting in Tijuana is the best. I am also wondering where should i stop along the way, what towns are best, or hostels/hotels? Also are there any issues traveling over christmas? One more thing I am not a very…

I've already looked at some weather websites, but I wanted to get some personal opinions about the weather in Oaxaca in July and August.

Does it rain as much as I've heard? It seems that those are fairly rain months. Is this state-wide, or does the rain tend to fall more in certain areas?

Also, how much does it cool down in the evenings? I'm assuming that there's a difference between evening weather in Oaxaca de Juarez and evenings out in the Mixteca due to elevation, and so I'd like to…

Hi,

A couple questions about Day of the Dead in Oaxaca City:

Are there particular areas of Oaxaca City anyone recommends for wandering during Day of the Dead?

Is there a particular cemeteries most interesting to stay near during this time?

Are there activities that take place before and after these dates that I might want to plan to attend?

Thanks for any help.

From The Yucatan Times newspaper, 29 April 2016...

Seattle resident Jonathan Reinhard is desperate to find his wife, 26-year-old Jenny Chen, who was on a two-month backpacking trip through Mexico.

Chen, a Chinese citizen living in Seattle, left for her trip to Mexico in early March. On Facebook, she documented the places she visited, the people she met, including some of her gracious hosts.

Jenny Chen was last seen on Monday April 11 in Oaxaca, according to Reinhard. He had planned to meet…

Just wanting to know if anyone has current pricing on the visitors program to El Triunfo or any other relevant information. Has anyone visited in mid August and if so the general weather conditions? I realise these could vary year to year with rapid climate change taking place. I was also wondering how hard the walking between Finca Prusia and Campamento El Triunfo is. Any relevant information would be much appreciated.

Hey there, I'm looking at flight combinations for guatemala-spain in august

I found gua-cun, cun-mad to be cheap and convenient. I would be flying with volaris (probably arriving at T2 cancun?) and then WamosAir departing from T3.

I would have to get out, collect my luggage and I understand pass migration, then go to T3 and check my luggage with the other company.

The layover is around 2'30hours. Is it safe? How far away are the terminals, etc?

Does anybody know other companies flying…

I have waxed and waned about where I'd move to in order to escape the coastal heat of Jalisco. I thought, go to San Sebastian del Oeste, a beautiful place above Puerto Vallarta but with few facilities of any kind. Too rustic to live full time!
Mexico City: It would have been nice but the air quality is really terrible as is the cost of living! Otherwise, I do like this city.
Ajijic: I liked it enough. It's not far from Guadalajara where I have a good friend, has a near subtropical climate but is…
