It’s a big deal celebrating 200 years of independence (remember 1976 in the U.S. anyone?) and, as we’ve mentioned before, Mexico loves a party. So it’s been a VERY big deal as the country gears up to celebrate 200 years of its independence from Spanish rule on September 16. The build up started years ago when the government installed enormous digital clocks around the country which counted down the number of left until this momentous bicentennial anniversary.

July has been National Ice Cream Month ever since Ronald Reagan made it so during his presidency in 1984. He also decreed that the third Sunday in July is National Ice Cream Day.
