Lonely Planet review for Churrería El Moro
A fine respite from the Eje Central crowds, El Moro manufactures long, slender deep-fried churros (doughnut-like fritters), just made to be dipped in thick hot chocolate. It’s a popular late-night spot, perfect for winding down after hours.

Chocolate, ¡sí! Churros, no.
anonimo recommends this,
Churrería El Moro is a good place to drop in for an sugar and theobromine boost when your energy flags. The hot chocolate is offered in three variations: Mexicano, Francés and Español. The Mexicano is pretty good stuff, but the Español is thick and intense. It was so rich that I was unable to finish all that was in my cup.
The eponymous churros, alas, are often served old and cold. Only once in our several visits were we served hot fresh churros, hot from the frying vat. The deal is, you can't buy a cup of chocolate without the churros.
Service is matter-of-fact and not especially swift, but relax; it will come!
El Moro operates 24/7, although a few writers have advised avoiding the neighborhood during the wee hours. My opinion: go in a group if you are concerned about safety..
