This branch covers travel to and around Mexico.

Here are some tips to help you find the information you want and need:

1. Research before asking a question. It will help you get better, more detailed and useful answers from the community if you've already done some homework. It's also polite. The community is here to help, but we're not your personal search engine. Invest some preliminary time and we'll help you fill in the gaps.

2. Explore Lonely Planet's Destinations online, which has a…

For anyone that has flown to Mexico with a child under 2 recently - I understand that the child can fly free if seated on an adults lap. But do you check the carseat with luggage to use in the taxi in Mexico, or leave it in the car at the airport for when you get back? Do you just strap and buckle the child in the backseat of taxi? Are there any seatbelt/carseat laws in Mexico like in the states?

Anyone currently in Tulum that an speak to the civil stability in light of the hotel evictions and protests this week?
I am scheduled to travel there in late August with my family in tow. We plan to stay at a small hostel (Jardin de Frida) on the outside of town - not one of the hotels affected by the evictions, but I have seen in at least one source that there is concern that there may be more to come. Was this a isolated land dispute, or is it bigger? Am I crazy to bring small kids into the…

My friend and I will be flying into Cancun around the end of July and travelling around southern Mexico and Guatemala for a month. Any tips for things to see/do and travel routes for southern Mexico specifically? We are unsure if we will be flying out of Cancun as well or from Guatemala. Any advice/suggestions is appreciated.

Hi!
So me and my GF are planning a 4 week vacation, from September 8th, to October 5th.
We were pretty much locked on Canada, but thinking of changing it because of how expensive it is.
How is Mexico in September?
I read some contradicting opinions regarding the weather... I know independence day should be fun, but how will the rest be?
We really hate humidity and extreme heat.
Are there maybe some parts of the country (hopefully the more interesting ones) which have moderate temps?
What would you…

I have a few questions I am hoping those that have visited Guadalajara recently can assist me with.

1 - Is there are particular part of the city that is more known for its bars and restaurants? Are there particular neighborhoods that have a higher concentration of bars and restaurants that people would recommend?

  1. Has anyone recently organized a tour of the Tequila distilleries with a private guide in Guadalajara? How accessible are the less commercial tequila distilleries? ie can you stop…

Hi there, does anybody know how to get to Oaxaca City from Mexico City right now aside from taking the plane (which amounts to about 200$ right)?

I understood the ADO buses from Mexico City to Oaxaca used to be around 30$, but because of the protests and the highway blockade it seems the ADO buses don't go and I think other buses from Mexico City neither (but not sure about this). I'm trying to get there by the weekend, so any suggestions/tips/help would be really appreciated.
