Introducing Fortín de Las Flores
Just west of Córdoba, Fortín de las Flores is a tranquil cut-flower cultivation center, with nurseries and private gardens. It’s a peaceful weekend retreat for Mexico City’s middle class, though travelers may find this a nice jumping-board town for mountain adventures. It could be preferable to stay in tranquil Fortín – with its cute zócalo and lush surroundings – over its industrial neighbors, Córdoba and Orizaba. Fortín’s annual flower festival runs for a week in late April or early May.
