Overly ambitious itinerary help

Hi

I'm Planning a 2 week trip to Mexico beginning December and am a bit stuck on whether I'm being far too ambitious with my travel plans. Any advice/comments will be greatly appreciated!

My main concerns are diving as will as culture and food. My Spanish is non-existent (I am South Africa). I had planned to travel as follows:

Fly nyc to cancun, spend +-5 days in that general area (playa del carmen and Cozumel) to dive etc.

Travel to Oaxaca by bus. I realise I will probably need to break…

Rock climbing near all-inclusive resport

Hello world.

I am writing as my girlfriend and I are interest in traveling to Mexico. She has stated only being comfortable staying in a "known hotel" with the preference of an all inclusive type deal. I have only done shoestring travel and have no idea how to go about looking for an all-inclusive type situation / finding the best deal for such a thing.

I am an experienced sport climber and she has just started so I think we will be limited to top-roping.

I am hoping for some advice in…

We have 4 days extra to visit a town or towns near Mexico City, where should we go?

Hi All,

If you had 4 days to visit a town (or towns) near Mexico City, which ones would you choose and why?

My wife and I are planning to go to Mexico from 11/22/14 - 12/01/14. We're flying in and out of Mexico City and will spend the first 5 days there, then would like to visit another town or towns from 11/26 - 11/29 before returning back to Mexico City for the last day and night of the trip. We expect that we'll travel by bus between locations, so we'd rather keep the transit time under…

Transfers/Taxis/Shuttles

Hi All - we will be in Mexico in Jan/Feb arriving in Merida late at night for a few days before heading to Chichen Itza for one night then over to Playa del Carmen for a few nights. I know there are buses but there are 4 adults and 1 toddler so I'm happy to spend a bit more to have our own van/taxi etc. Question - are there any good companies to go through or avoid? And one style (taxi vs. shuttle) more than the other?

Thanks in advance

Driving from Zihuatanejo --> Caleta de Campos Hwy 200

Does anyone have some insight about the current situation along the Michoacan coast - specifically Caleta de Campos? We are very familiar with Zihuatanejo and are considering either taking the bus or hiring a driver to take us to Caleta and back for a week or so..

Safety in Mexico City and Oaxaca. YaMeCansé

I am very aware of the marches and fires and upheaval about the 43 and the YaMeCanse movement. Does anybody live in Mexico City? What is it like? I fly in with my girlfriend Dec 12. We planned to go to Oaxaca for 10 days. But I am curious about the state of affairs.

Part of me would like to march and take the pulse of the movement. I wonder how safe it is. I have friends who think this might be a real violent revolution. I am not the type to avoid travel because of the US State department…
