ah, very true, dansurfie. The wine on Thai Airways is horrible french wine. It tastes like watered down grape juice spiked with ethanol.
I'm flying Singapore Airlines next week - and now I'm of two minds - try the wine to confirm it REALLY tastes like vomit, or avoid it completely and ask for cognac straight away?

thai airways
In defence of good (or, at least, generally edible) economy class food, Thai Airways provides a printed menu before takeoff, hot rolls, flight attendants who wander the aisles to top off your wine, after-dinner coffee service, and here's my favourite part - a final pass through the cabin serving cognac. And it's not just cheap cognac, it's entirely drinkable and reasonably pricy courvoisier VSOP exclusif.
