I’ve started a special blog about travel in the Middle East… I just returned from Thailand, Cambodia, Hong Kong…and India So I have more than one blog… I also have a blog about Eastern Europe and the Balkans…

April 2013 in Peru…then to Mexico…

My interests are in Eastern European and Central and South Asian history…including the Byzantines, Ottomans and Mughals…ancient and modern. Also Thais, Mons and Khmers…planning trip to Burma… Ending up in Singapore a lot because of airline issues… I find India amazing… I’d be a Hindu if I were not already a Buddhist…!

Asia is an area that is greatly ignored in the West… I am working on a lot of Indian and South Asian History now…Planning a return trip to South India in the Fall… I don’t care about the TB and the sanitary conditions… India is a festival every day…!

I like to know the history of the places I travel to… I do a lot of photography…and love the new hi-def video cameras… I use a great Sony Hi-Def…video cam…and have several other digital cameras…
