just to add to this - I would say that most if not all people I know that live in El Alto have had problems regarding safety at some point...

@jx7 - all sounds correct to me. Indigena are a budget level company so those prices are the min they are allowed to sell for for 3 day...

your really not missing anything special - you miss seeing laguna colorado from the other side (you will have seen the lake already though)...

the I mentioned the "accident" thing was that sometimes in these smaller towns etc people can get jealous of successful people etc and...

ive left and come back same day many years ago. Peru did have an actual official form and a fee of about 20usd i think . On the bolivia...

i was told the new ATM would be in about 3 months time (by a guide from bala tours) - and that it will except international cards.Who knows...

Comes down to luck really - i was there for 3 days mid jan and didnt see a drop of rain, but it is likely that you will get some. I wouldnt...

@Jeff - so am I wrong in assuming that if they have a neon light border around the number plate that everything is safe and in working...

pretty much you need to go up to Eloy Salmon and ask the tech shops there. I know a guy called Nelson that I call out for repairs and stuff...

last time i asked, which was last year sometime the train from uyuni to chile had stopped running - not sure about right now though...
