the last week or so has been filled with enjoyable research - some with helpful outcomes and others well, not so much. i have been blessed to connect with Christine Gilbert who blogs at www.AlmostFearless.com and Sarah Smith who blogs at www.Almost-Together.com. i want to thank both of these amazing women for taking time to answer some of my questions about RTW travel.
ok....here is my next obsession (there are many and i'm sure i will air them all here eventually). what are the pros and cons to traveling via an RV? if we plan on traveling through Europe, Africa, Asia and possibly India is doing it in a RV even possible??
do we buy an RV here in the US and ship it to Europe or do we buy one when we get there? how do we handle vehicle registration and insurance?
i don't know how long my family will be traveling for....i have told my husband that we may just not come back :-) we want to travel cost effectively of course but i also want to be realistic about how we will live during the time we are gone...there are 5 of us...and a friend said that we would become the modern nomad version of the Griswold family :-) LOL
anyways, i hope some of you can help answer some of these questions. i enjoy hearing what others have already experienced....and advice that you might have to give.
thank you :-)

commented on Hello, my name is Dayna Palmer. I am a mom of 3 (4, 6 and 8). I am a Canadian citizen living in the US with my husband and kids. We took our children to Vancouver for the Olympics this past February. It was amazing to be on my home turf for that amazing event. We had so much fun that we have decided that we will be going to Russia in 2014 but that is quickly turning into the desire to spend a year or more traveling :-) I am an entrepreneur and with my business quickly expanding and being one that I can do remotely, I am hoping that the financial issues of traveling for a year will not be so stressful. It is so important to me that my children experience other cultures, meet people from other countries - see that there are amazing things to see and do EVERYWHERE. I look forward to connecting with many of you, reading about your travels and learning what I need to know as we spend the next 3 - 4 years planning a trip of a lifetime :-) in Long-Term Family Travel and Sabbatical
how exciting for you all!! where are you going and how long will you be gone?? i have told my husband that we don't need to talk about it with family at this point because we will get alot of resistence on the "roadschooling" thing...i think we may go and then never come back :-)
