Retired as a teacher after 29 years – previous to that was in the Royal Air Force, various jobs after that before becoming a mature student (living the student life in late 20s/early 30s), degree in Economics then into teaching. Labour councillor (when that was trendy in the mid90s), teaching union activist before the fire died.
Have always loved travel but the advent of the internet took it to a whole new level for me – we suddenly had “the knowledge” which was the key for doing it for ourselves.
Retire 2 July 2009 – off on a 9 week trip from then – Hungary, Austria, Germany, France, Spain and Portugal.
