    Hi all - Merry Christmas! I'm planning on a 1 month surfing sabbatical end Jan through late Feb 2010 - on my own. I've never tried surfing but am a good swimmer and have previously done bodyboarding and wakeboarding so I think I'll be fine :)

    I'm currently based in Shanghai and am toying with the usual suspects eg. Hawaii, Bali. However, if anyone's got a better suggestion/itinerary for a beginner surfer, for 3 weeks, I'd love to hear from you. Or if you're planning to be beach hopping around that time, do get in touch!
