About me

Grew up in the rural coalfields of Southwestern, VA. Never did really feel that I belonged, even though I love my family and the people.

Accepted Jesus Christ as Savior at age 10. Had a knack for making good grades in school and found friendship with a Hindu whose father practiced medicine here. Traveled to India with him and his family in 1990. Never have been able to get over the trip.

Spent twelve years away from church, trying to reconcile the majority-held views of Christian Salvation and how I find them contradictory to the words of Christ himself. Realized that I was only destroying myself and not changing anyone’s mind and rejoined the church in 2002.

Have traveled back to India five times since, marrying a Christian from Kerala who shares many of my views that are not consistent with the evangelical church. Three children make travel a challenge but I am thankful for them and pray that they can grow up healthy and content.

Look forward to possible retirement in India if God blesses the idea and India has any land left that can be afforded by anyone other than billionaires.
