Khao Chi Chan features a sculptural image erected to honor His Majesty King erected to honor is Majesty King Bhumibol on te occasion of te 50th anniversary of his enthronenment. The image is a sitting figure called Pang Man Wichai and copied from Phra Phuttawarachabopit which combines both Sukhothai and Lanna arts. The images is 109 meters in eight and 70 meters and the figure is named Phra Phuttamaha Wachirauttamapat Satsada that means the Buddha who has brightness and sublimity like Mahawachira. There are many kinds of plant surrounding and huts for the visitors

Hi everyone, a newbie in the room. Picture was taken at White Temple in Chiang Rai, Thailand.

Am in the mid way planning go to Canada (Montreal/ Quebec) next March. I would like to visit historic sights and have a similar interest in history and culture a sightseeing trip. In fact i am still working out my budget for a 30days vocation. Meanwhile, seeking a cheap and good accommodation for a solo traveler. Any advise appreciated. Cheers

Highly recommend Bali or visit other islands in East Malaysia(Borneo).

I don't think it is worth for a day in Redang. If included the time waste in Airport or journey to destination. It might too short...

Why don't you consider the beaches/ islands in Malaysia?

The weather is much cooler in Malaysia and Thailand. I'd suggest the best time for traveling is between Dec to Feb.

Surprisingly Kuala Lumpur not in the list.

Alternatively, you could check out Malaysia Airlines as they have surprised air fares some times.

Please be noted that the expenses in Northern Thailand are much cheaper than Bangkok. On the other hand, just staying 2-3days in Singapore....
