I would have made a point of asking about this item just as any part of your arrangments with the trek agency....

About me
Peace Corps Nepal, drinking water supply, 3+ yrs E Nepal, +2 yrs right after PC in Nepal working, volunteering, and extensive trekking, and as trek leader. Speak Nepali. Also travel N. India from Darjeeling to Rajasthan, Kashmr, Himalchal Pradesh, trekking from H. P. thru Zanskhar and Ladakh.
Nine month visit in ‘95-’96.
Six month visit for volunteer work and trekking Sept ’08-Mar ’09.
Again Oct 2010- Apr 2011. Trekking, volunteering, adventures, new and old friends…Did independent trek to Makalu Base Camp Oct 2010, with one other person, was difficult trek. Walked out thru Solu where did some water supply work.
Returning to Nepal Nov, 2012, then Manaslu/Tsum V. trek. Afterwards want to lead small treks again, as last yr, with like-minded people…just a few people on non-standard routes or even reg treks. I would be up for doing this again at nominal cost, not trying to make money, just like trekking and willing to show others some interesting places and people. This is not a business, just meet up and go….if interested, email me…roger_ray@hotmail.com
My perspective in writing in LP TT and concerning Nepal is a little different than many peoples’. I prefer to live frugally there (giving my money to locals, small lodges, homes etc rather than already well paid well off tourist business types), stay off main trails/routes, and interact much more intensely with the Nepalis. I would rather spend the afternoon after trekking hanging with the family in the kitchen, bs’ing, joking, maybe teaching some English to school kids than being at a tourist lodge with other westerners and staying in fancy hotels and eating faux western food. I always carry my own backpack, eat Nepali food, and live simply while there. I am not in KTM, or on the main treks to party, bar hop, or piss away 2000$ in a 2-3 week European style vacation. I am there for the long term to hopefully get to know the Nepalis better, try to do some good, and enjoy myself in my own fashion.
