  I am planning to travel to the South of Turkey and to Aleppo in December/January.
  I have been told that there is a train that I could take. I was wondering if you could give me some advice on the train or other ways to travel and places to visit in the area?

  I'm coming to Aleppo at the beginning of January 2010. I've contacted the development project there, as I'm trying to build up my work experience in international development, I'm hoping I'll be helping out voluntarily. Have you been involved with the project?

  commented on not sure on traveling solo in Going Solo

  I love that there are so many women braving it and going alone these days! You need to keep your wits about you, but if you have that dream kiki, you've got to do it, or you could end up regretting it later.

  I think that there are still lots of places in the world where the culture and history have stifled women's independance, so they can be shocked to find us travelling alone, but through visiting those places and getting to know the local people and culture we can gain a better understanding of their cultures and add the value of that to our own life experiences... and in return we can share our new-found confidence with other women.
