      Songs for the Outback

Californication - the song, and the whole album by Red Hot Chili Peppers. Just reminds me of cruising through the outback...

      BFI Mediatheque

Can’t believe more people don’t know about this http://tiny.cc/rbf2g

It’s at the BFI on London’s South Bank, it’s free, and it has the most amazing archive of films and documentaries!

It makes the perfect shelter from the British summertime :-)

      The Glastonbury of Meatballs

Don't forget, you've still got time to get to Grottaglie in Puglia, Italy for their annual Sagra della Polpetta, or meatball festival. From September 6th to 7th, local townspeople will be selling insane numbers of delicious morsels from streetside stalls: big meatballs, small meatballs, long meatballs, spicy meatballs...some as big as your head!

      Visit the Glorious Gower Festival

      What: Gower Festival
      Where: Gower Peninsular, Wales
      When: 18th to 31st July

The Gower, that finger of land gesticulating just beyond Swansea, is one of Wales' most magical corners, a wild combination of beaches, sea cliffs and rolling meadowlands. It feels more like an island than part of the mainland, and retains its sense of remoteness despite the summer crowds. There is only one thing lovelier than being on the Gower in July, and that is to be here in July during the Gower Festival, when there are beautiful classical recitals taking place in its village churches: you can listen to a Bach choir, string quartet or piano trio before heading out to sip chilled white wine on the beach.
