About me
North Carolina US, retired librarian teacher, but now teaching ESL to children in public school. 10 trips sola in Mexico have traveled and spent time in Mex. states of Quintana Roo, Yucatan, Campeche, Chiapas, Augascalientes, Zacatecas, Guanajuato, Queretaro and Hidalgo, Colima, Nayarit, Michoacan, Jalisco,Puebla city and state, parts of Morelos,Tlaxcala (city and state), Veracruz city and state, San Luis Potosi (y Xilitla), Hidalgo and Oaxaca.(3 trips to Oaxaca) Have also traveled to Atlantic Canada provinces, my favorite is Newfoundland, hence my user name.
Started going to Europe in 2009 with a visit to Azores, then Lisbon and around and then the Alentejo region. I visited Spain in March/April 2010 walking around the white villages of the Alpujarra, then took a side trip to Seville. I ended up in the Canary Island of La Gomera for 9 days walking the trails on the island.
I am planning another trip to Spain in 2011 probably Galacia, and Basque areas of Spain I am a fan of slow travel and love to visit small towns and villages as opposed to large cites, although I loved Lisbon. I travel by myself,use public transportation, and much prefer to spends more time in fewer places than working from a list of sights.
