About me

i have lived in Puerto Vallarta for the last 6 years as a way of escaping the long canadian winter.

during that time i have co-owned a small neighbourhood restaurant, La Tia Catrina,

and managed a much more successful restaurant, Joe Jack’s Fish Shack.

i would love to add to the Lonely Planet database from a locals perspective. so much of what is great about Mexico is tucked away and not really marketed toward tourists.

this is what keeps small Mexican businesses alive. they don’t count on tourist money to survive. they operate out of their homes, keep their costs low and do what their family has been specializing in for decades.

these are the things that are hard to find. these are the things that you discover over the years.
