About me
Michael has been working as a travel writer for over a decade. In 2003 he jumped in headfirst with Lonely Planet by taking on the Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan chapters of the Central Asia guidebook. Since then he has been wandering some of the remoter corners of Asia and the Middle East for LP. His recent titles include China, Tibet, Mongolia, Israel and the Palestinian Territories and Trans-Siberia Railway.
Michael spends about half the year in Mongolia where he also reports for the international media outlets including the BBC and Reuters. His reports on Mongolia issues can be read on his website: [Link Removed]
When not on the road Michael can be spotted back home in central Oregon.
