I am a 50 year old single mother, with a 6.5 year old son (currently living in Oxford), planning to take a year out from `july 2011 and do a RTW. Now that I've used the abbreviation I feel part of the community. Would love to hear from anyone similar (singe parent single child) who has done it, or is planning to. My 'hobby' is mental health services, and I'm interested in visiting services in various parts of the world. Would love to follow sarah's motto of 'less is more' and stay a few places for a longer period rather than constantly moving.

The best breakfast I ever had was in Eritrea, where the ful or egg breakfast might be something like what you get in North Africa. Mashed beans with salad & lemon, & lovely fresh bread.
