About me
From Feb. 2001 – April 2009, I lived in Germany, first in Bonn and then near Ahr Weiler, except for March 1 – Aug.t 22, when I lived in Kabul, Afghanistan. In April 2009, I moved back to the USA – and continue to go through huge culture shock. I’m originally from Kentucky, and have been to 34 US states. In addition to living in Afghanistan & Germany, I’ve been to Albania, Austria, Australia, Belgium, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Canada, Croatia, Czech Republic, Egypt, France, Great Britain (England and Scotland), Hungary, India (just Delhi), Ireland, Italy, Jordan, Luxembourg, Macedonia (the former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia), Mexico, Montenegro, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain (Catalunya and Castilla), Sweden, Switzerland, United Arab Emirates, and Vatican City. I have traveled to many of those countries by motorcycle, first on the back of my husband’s bike, and now with my own. I’m a consultant, helping nonprofit organizations, NGOs and development agencies with volunteer engagement, communications and donor relations. In Nov. 2005, I finished my Master’s Degree in Development Management. I’m married to a German who also loves to travel (which is how we met, in Ireland). Please feel free to email me about anything on my own travel web site, anything I’ve posted here on the Thorn Tree or any of my travels. I really love helping people, especially women, with information about traveling abroad.Recent activity
